COMPASS Training Center further expands its service portfolio with its pilot program for Deck and Engine Ratings Assessment conducted last Monday, January 23, 2017 and Tuesday, January 31, 2017 respectively. Granted accreditation by MARINA as an Assessment Center (AC) for Deck and Engine Ratings in compliance with Regulation II/4 and III/4 of the STCW Convention, COMPASS now duly conducts assessments for Deck and Engine Ratings with international or overseas seagoing experience. Any ordinary seaman assigned to either the deck department or the engine department who either stands navigational/engineering watches or may be assigned to stand navigational/engineering watches, must be qualified to augment the watch and fulfill the Support Level of STCW A-II/4 and III/4 in the deck and engine department.
